Fall 2022: Gardening at Community Sites

Join the Volunteer Opportunities Program (VOP) at Y.E.S. for an 8-week series at two community gardening sites in Arcata. Volunteers will assist with outdoor projects which may include weeding, tending greenhouse plants, orchard care, harvesting, and more!

Potawot Community Food Garden

Weekly: Thursday from 2:00 - 3:30pm (9/8/22 through 10/27/22)

Location: Volunteers are responsible for securing their own transportation to the community site (3500 Ribeiro Lane, Arcata).

Mad River Hospital Garden

Weekly: Tuesday from 12:00 - 1:00pm (9/6/22 through 10/25/22)

Location: Volunteers are responsible for securing their own transportation to the community site (3800 Janes Road Arcata). Meet outside the front of the main library entrance and then walk with the group to the garden space.

Participation Details:

  • Limited to 15 students per week/gardening visit.
  • Wellness self-checks required before arriving at site.
  • Outside projects only (rain or shine).

Sign up for one date or multiple dates, depending on your schedule and interest.
