V.O.P- One Time Volunteering
Spring 2023
Drop-In Knitting:
Weekly 1-hour volunteering on campus. Help knit beanies to be donated to oncology patients, seniors, newborns, and individuals experiencing homelessness.
No experience necessary. It’s easy to learn using our circular knitting looms and student leaders will provide tutorials.
Tuesday from 12:00-12:50pm (beginning 1/30/23 through 4/25/23)
- To reserve your spot: Simply come to the YES office (Library, Suite1) on Wednesday by 11:55pm
- Limited to10 students per session.
Gardening at Potawot Community Food Garden
Join the Volunteer Opportunities Program (VOP) at Y.E.S. for an 8-week series in Arcata. Volunteers will assist with outdoor projects which may include weeding, tending greenhouse plants, orchard care, harvesting, and more!
Potawot Community Food Garden
Weekly: Thursday from 1:30 - 3:00pm (3/2/23 through 4/20/23)
Location: Volunteers are responsible for securing their own transportation to the community site (3500 Ribeiro Lane, Arcata).
Participation Details:
- Limited to 15 students per week/gardening visit.
- Wellness self-checks required before arriving at site.
- Outside projects only (rain or shine).
