We ask current HSU students to RSVP for monthly service projects.

VOP - Saturday Service Projects:

Weekend volunteer projects are scheduled once a month, typically on a Saturday for about 3 hours. Sites rotate each semester, so volunteers can participate in a variety of projects and community-based sites.

Check the Upcoming Events page to learn about VOP projects each semester.

Drop-In Knitting:

Weekly 1-hour volunteering on campus. Help knit beanies to be donated to oncology patients, seniors, newborns, and individuals experiencing homelessness.

No experience necessary. It’s easy to learn using our circular knitting looms and student leaders will provide tutorials.

Fall 2021: Date, time and campus location TBD

Program Mission

The program serves to meet the varying needs of the local community by matching groups of individual volunteers with identified projects on a monthly basis throughout the school year.

Service, Goals & Projects

The Volunteer Opportunities Program (VOP) provides short-term or one-time volunteer projects for HSU students. Volunteers may join at any point in the semester. VOP is a great option for students who need lower commitment or flexible volunteer options.  Students may choose to volunteer once, a few times, or on an ongoing basis.
